what's tomauro?
“What is the feeling when you're driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? It's the too huge world vaulting us, and it's good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.”

Tourist vs. Traveler
So I can by no means say I'm a seasoned traveler, in fact I just dipped my hand into the pool of exploration. But from what I've seen there is a difference in lifestyle between a nomadic backpacker and a tourist. And this is my list (with a somewhat humorous touch).
Ordering at a restaurant:
Traveler-points at some random dish that sounds somewhat familiar and looks somewhat inexpensive.
Tourist-asks in English "Is this similar to chicken?"
Staying at hotels:
Traveler-stays at hostels or couchsurfers. maybe spends a night or two on the floor of a train station of airport.
Tourist-bounces between hostels (ones above 80%) and hotels but definitley always has a bed to lay on.
Sightseeing:
Traveler-depending on the budget may just view sights through gates sneak into a payed tour or two. Saves their money for only the best of landmarks.
Tourist-Follows Frommers always has a map covering their face while wandering the streets while stopping every so often to mumble "Donderr Estayyy?"
Attire:
Traveler-layers basic t-shirts and shorts tennis shoes. Most likely havent been washed for weeks, along with their hair.
Tourist-Hawaiin shirt hat with big red letters bolded saying "ROMA". A baseball cap and money necklace containing money and passport.
Trip Iternerary:
Traveler- not much of one. May have places they want to see also base destinations off of hearsay.
Tourist-planned to a T.
Companions:
Traveler-solo or with another friend. Maybe sometimes a significant other. Meeting people along the way maybe venturing to the next city with a new friend.
Tourist-family, significant other. Almost never solo unless on business.
Communication:
Traveler-maybe cell phone more likely facebook or email.
Tourist-international cellphone or cell phone from home with roaming charges.
Either way good times to be had. I find myself somewhere in the middle but always attempting to "wing it" and adopt more of the traveler. I guess thats the Jack Kerouac fan in me. But please feel free to contribute obviously this is just an exagerrated and silly list.
When I find more time I share stories from my crazy Italian spring break.
Here's David Guetta ft. Kid Cudi "Memories":
Very popular over here and a perfect song for traveling and having fun
